40th Anniversary Celebration: the 2026 Grace Hudson Museum Gala
Join us for the Grace Hudson Museum's biggest and most festive fundraiser of the year. All proceeds from this event will support Museum exhibitions, public programs, education outreach, collections care, and upkeep of the Sun House, Grace Hudson's historic home and studio.
This year, we celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the opening of the Grace Hudson Museum. Starting soon after the sale of the Sun House to the City of Ukiah in the late 1970’s, an idea for an accompanying museum began to take shape. Through the work of a volunteer group that came to be known as the Sun House Guild, a design for the museum was created and funds for construction were raised. The Grace Hudson Museum opened to the public on October 6, 1986. That year also happened to be the 75th anniversary of the Sun House. Guests to this year’s Gala will enjoy a live auction, delectable food by Garbocci Gourmet Catering, plentiful libations, live music by Back Porch Trio, and the company of old and new friends.
