In-Person Gala Returns to Grace Hudson Museum!
After two consecutive years of producing virtual galas due to the pandemic, the Museum returns to an in-person, outdoor event on the grounds around the historic Sun House. All proceeds support Museum programming -- exhibitions, public lectures, workshops, educational outreach, music, dance, film screenings, and marketing. The theme for this year’s Gala is “Celebrating Pomo Arts.”
Our theme is tied in to the Museum's fall exhibition, Gathering Time: Pomo Art During the Pandemic. This is the Grace Hudson Museum’s first exhibition in its 36-year history to exclusively showcase contemporary Pomo artists and the diversity of mediums in which they work, both traditional and modern. It is also the first Gala at which the Museum has honored Pomo peoples, who are so vital to the region's history and character, and also essential in the development if Grace Hudson’s painting and in the making of her career. The evening will include live and silent auctions, good food, plentiful libations, and the company of old and new friends. The menu, prepared by our caterer Beth Keiffer in consultation with Gathering Time guest curator Meyo Marrufo (Robinson Rancheria Band of Pomo Indians), will feature some familiar favorite dishes, delicately infused and complemented with flavors found in Pomo cuisine. We are thrilled and grateful that this year’s auctioneer will be our very own State Senator, the Honorable Mike McGuire.
